PAST EVENTS
Shelter In Place Activities Since the start of the pandemic, we have been working to encourage local residents to take the CDC guidelines seriously and to find a little fun and inspiration in at-home competitions. Our #FoolsinPlace photo/testimonial series featured people's thoughts on SIP, our virtual S'will performance brought back an audience favorite via Facebook Live, while our #SlayAtHome competition offered folks the chance to create an art-inspired "look" for a chance to win giftcards to the local business or organization of their choice. 3rd Annual Big Gay Cabaret For the third installment of our annual fundraiser, we once again joined forces with Our Saviour's Lutheran Church to raise money for Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival. Over a dozen LGBTQIA performers entertained an audience with singing, dancing, and poetry. The evening ended with our traditional community post-show reception. 2nd Annual Joyful Noise Benefit

Rogue Festival 2019 Our slightly inebriated team of thespians played a condensed, localized-to-the-Valley, and lesbian-centric Romeo and Juliet to packed houses for the first two weekend of March at Tower Theatre Lounge in the Tower District. We also raised $200 for Hinds Hospice's Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss program, in accordance with themes from the show. |
2nd Annual Big Gay Cabaret For the second year in a row, we joined forces with Our Saviour's Lutheran Church to raise money for Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival. 20 LGBTQIA performers (and an ally or two) entertained an audience with singing, dancing, poetry, and stand up comedy before everyone was treated to a free beer-and-wine reception in the church social hall after the show. |
Rogue Festival 2018 We built a backyard venue (from scratch!) in Kristin's backyard, in order to host four different productions- two of which were our own and two which featured out of town guests. Our productions were S'Will (a "lovingly mangled" version of Twelfth Night), and The Variety Show (a cabaret performance featuring multi-discipline artists). A dollar from every ticket ($175 total) was donated to Fresno Rainbow Pride. |
Post Election Shows After the 2016 election, we collectively mourned the outcome with our We The People event and our inauguration night performance of Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche. Both events were held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, courtesy our friendship with Pastor Bill and his congregation. |
"Bring Samantha Home" Project One of our first projects, we raised $5000 for a family in support of their adoption efforts. Productions for this project included a reading of Memory House by real-life mother and daughter, Amy Ryan and Alice Ryan, a one-man performance of A Christmas Carol featuring Chris Mangels, and an immersive dinner theater production of Blood Relations at The Old Clovis Bistro, among other events. Ultimately, the family decided adoption was not the best path for them and the money was given to Love Crosses Oceans. |
The #Shakespeare400 Project How it all began. We create a month's worth of Shakespeare-themed community events, in accordance with the Shakespeare 400 project that was happening all over the globe in honor of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. Events featured movie nights, a pub quiz, a game show, monologue competitions, play readings, and more. |
