2nd Annual Big Gay Cabaret For the second year in a row, we joined forces with Our Saviour's Lutheran Church to raise money for Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival. 20 LGBTQIA performers (and an ally or two) entertained an audience with singing, dancing, poetry, and stand up comedy before everyone was treated to a free beer-and-wine reception in the church social hall after the show.
Fresno Women's March Four of our fierce female Fools (Brooke Aiello, Camille Gaston, Lia Dewey, and Kayla Edwards-Monnot) performed "Little Girls Don't Stay Little Forever" by Erin May Kelly for the 2019 Women's March.
Joyful Noise Benefit Our holiday-themed cabaret and community cocktail reception raised $1300 for California Community Foundation's Wildfire Relief Fund and kicked off the holiday season for the local theatre community.
Rogue Festival 2018 We built a backyard venue (from scratch!) to host four different productions- two of which were Fools Collaborative shows and two which featured out of town guests. Our productions were S'Will (a "lovingly mangled" version of Twelfth Night), and The Variety Show (a cabaret performance featuring multi-discipline artists like singers, actors, drag performers, comedians, and a cartoonist). A dollar from every full price ticket sold ($175 total) was donated to Fresno Rainbow Pride.
The Big Gay Cabaret Teaming up with Our Saviours Lutheran Church and Fresno Rainbow Pride, we hosted an LGBT-themed cabaret and champagne reception that raised $1200 for this year's Pride parade and festival.
Post Election Shows After the 2016 election, we collectively mourned the outcome with our We The People event and our inauguration night performance of Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche.
#makeajoyfulnoise Every year we #makeajoyfulnoise during the Christmas season, by sharing songs and merriment on social media. Visit our "Upcoming Events" tab for information regarding our 3rd annual #makeajoyfulnoise event, coming December 20th, 2018.
The "Bring Samantha Home" Project We raised $5000 for The Martin Family in support of their international adoption efforts through several arts-themed fundraiser (and a yard sale). Productions for this project included a reading of Memory House by real-life mother and daughter, Amy Ryan and Alice Ryan, a one-man performance of A Christmas Carol featuring Chris Mangels, and an immersive dinner theater production of Blood Relations at The Old Clovis Bistro.
The #shakespeare400 Celebration Our initial project was participation in the worldwide #Shakespeare400 celebration. We offered a month's worth of Shakespearean themed events, all over town, in April of 2016. The events ranged from a movie night and a a pub quiz night to a 24-hour play fest and a free, condensed version of Twelfth Night in the park.
